Through this initiative, we aim to make it easier for people actively involved in the WordPress community to attend WordCamp, meet fellow contributors, learn from others, and become more involved in the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More importantly, this scholarship is about carrying forward Puneet\u2019s belief in people, community, and the opportunities that can come from simply getting involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Remembering Puneet Sahalot<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Puneet Sahalot was much more than a WordPress community member.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He was an entrepreneur, a visionary thinker, a mentor, and a guiding light for many people in the WordPress ecosystem. At a time when WordPress was still relatively new to many people in smaller cities, he helped introduce and nurture WordPress culture in a Tier III city in Rajasthan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also laid the foundation for the Udaipur WordPress Meetup, creating a space where WordPress enthusiasts could meet, learn, share their experiences, and grow together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For many people, Puneet wasn\u2019t just someone who worked with WordPress. He <strong>helped people find their place in the WordPress community.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His untimely passing in 2021 left a void that continues to be felt by the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About the Puneet Sahalot Memorial Scholarship<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>Puneet Sahalot Memorial Scholarship<\/strong> has been created to keep Puneet\u2019s legacy of supporting and encouraging others alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For WordCamp Rajasthan 2026, we will select <strong>five scholarship recipients<\/strong> who are new to the WordPress community but are actively getting involved and contributing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each selected recipient will receive support covering:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>WordCamp Rajasthan 2026 event ticket<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Accommodation for three nights<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Travel reimbursement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The goal is simple: to help remove practical barriers that can make attending a WordCamp difficult and enable emerging community members to participate in the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Does the Scholarship Cover?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>WordCamp Rajasthan 2026 Ticket<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each of the five recipients will receive a <strong>full event ticket to WordCamp Rajasthan 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This allows scholarship recipients to attend the sessions, meet speakers and contributors, connect with other WordPress professionals and enthusiasts, and become part of the wider WordCamp experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Accommodation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recipients will receive <strong>three nights of accommodation on a twin-sharing basis.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This support is intended to make the trip easier for those traveling to Jaipur from outside the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Travel Support<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Travel expenses will also be reimbursed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The reimbursement will be <strong>capped at the cost of a return 3A train ticket from the recipient\u2019s home city to Jaipur.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This helps us provide meaningful travel support while keeping the scholarship sustainable and accessible to more community members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who Can Apply?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The scholarship is intended for people <strong>who are new to the WordPress community<\/strong> and are actively getting involved and contributing in their own way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are particularly interested in people who are taking their first steps in the WordPress community, whether through meetups, volunteering, contributing to WordPress, helping others, creating community initiatives, or simply finding meaningful ways to participate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You don\u2019t need to have years of experience or an impressive list of contributions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What matters is that you are <strong>getting involved, contributing, and showing an interest in being part of the community.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We want to keep the selection process open and community-focused rather than make it about meeting a long list of rigid criteria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Apply for the Scholarship<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you think this scholarship could help you attend WordCamp Rajasthan 2026 and you meet the general criteria above, we encourage you to apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/LQpSjE5EFCYikbPBA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[Apply for the Puneet Sahalot Memorial Scholarship &gt;&gt; He encouraged others to learn and grow. He shared his knowledge generously and helped bring WordPress closer to people in Rajasthan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Puneet Sahalot Memorial Scholarship is a small way of continuing that work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is about giving someone their first opportunity to attend a WordCamp. It is about helping someone discover a community they didn\u2019t know existed.
